Position Overview:

An AmeriCorps Reporting and Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the organization's AmeriCorps programs comply with all applicable federal regulations and AmeriCorps policies. The Reporting and Compliance Specialist works with the staff to develop and implement compliance procedures, conduct compliance reviews, and investigate and resolve compliance issues.

Responsibilities include:

AmeriCorps Mastery

  • Ongoing learning and review of AmeriCorps programs including monitoring changes in regulations and policies.
  • Research individual state commissions, identify differences and similarities, disseminate to appropriate departments.
  • Share learned knowledge with relevant parties.

Training and Development

  • Develop, maintain, and update AmeriCorps compliance procedures, protocols, and policies.
  • Develop, maintain, and update training materials including: recruitment, onboarding, management, and off-boarding of AmeriCorps members.
  • Update the Mentor Fellowship handbook regularly to ensure it has the most up-to-date AmeriCorps policies and procedures.
  • Conduct training and provide support to those who onboard, train, and manage AmeriCorps program staff and AmeriCorps members on compliance matters.

Compliance and Reporting

  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with background checks, member files, job descriptions, hour tracking, e-grants enrollment and exit, performance reviews (90-day and annual reviews), etc.
  • Conduct compliance reviews of AmeriCorps programs to ensure that they are meeting all applicable requirements. Investigate and resolve compliance issues.
  • Represent the organization to government agencies and other stakeholders on compliance matters.
  • Represent the organization at AmeriCorps conferences and monthly meetings with AmeriCorps officers.
  • Share data related to AmeriCorps to senior leadership regularly

Grants

  • Manage grant awards, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance with funder requirements.
  • Writing and submitting grant reports to funders, mid-year evaluations, end-of-year evaluations, continuation, contracting checklists, and grant close-out.
  • Provide support to staff on grant writing and management.
  • Collaborate with AmeriCorps program staff to ensure that grant-funded programs are successful, which may involve developing program plans, logic models, slot conversions, and monitoring program progress using Salesforce Dashboard.

Miscellaneous

  • Conduct focus groups with Mentor to determine success, challenges, and growth areas.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must Haves

  • A multi-tasker with a solid ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and produce quality results. 

Education 

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. 

Experience 

  • Two years experience with AmeriCorps reporting and compliance preferred

Computer Skills 

  • Microsoft Office Suite

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm, some weekends, evenings and organization-wide events are required.

Pay Rate:

$70,000-$80,000 per year

Benefits:

Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life AD&D, Voluntary Life AD&D, EAP and a 403(b) retirement with 3% employer match after one year of employment. There is also 2 weeks of accrued paid vacation and paid time off for school breaks.

National HQ in Sacramento.
