Job Summary:
We are seeking a Warehouse Design and Automation Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing the layout of warehouse facilities to improve efficiency and maximize space utilization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess operational needs and develop strategies for layout improvements. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.

Travel: 70-75% Monday to Friday to various clients

Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of current warehouse layouts, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data on warehouse operations, inventory levels, and material flow.
- Analyze data to understand operational requirements and develop strategic plans for layout enhancements.
- Design and implement innovative solutions to optimize space utilization, increase storage capacity, and improve workflow efficiency.
- Plan and oversee the implementation of layout changes, coordinating with internal stakeholders to minimize disruption to daily operations.
- Utilize warehouse management systems and software to develop accurate simulations and 3D models of proposed layout changes.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of layout modifications, making necessary adjustments to accommodate changing business needs.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices related to warehouse layout and design.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in warehouse layout design and optimization.
- Working knowledge of automated guided vehicles (AGVs), autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), and very narrow aisle (VNA) turrets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Proficient in using warehouse management systems and design software such as AutoCAD or similar tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma principles is a plus.
- Physical ability to navigate warehouse facilities and perform site visits as needed.
