Maintenance Technician – Utilities & facilities

My pharmaceutical client is currently on the lookout for a Utility Mechanic to become an integral part of their expanding team in Charlotte, NC. In this role, you will be tasked with the operation and upkeep of both general and critical utilities equipment on-site. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting regular maintenance to guarantee the smooth functioning of equipment, thereby minimizing the chances of unexpected downtime. You'll be working with mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and components. With either general supervision or independently, you'll be adept at identifying, preventing, and resolving technical issues pertaining to designated equipment and areas.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting preventive maintenance, repairs, and regular sanitization and passivation procedures for the critical utility systems in Monroe, ensuring adherence to company standard operating procedures, equipment manuals, and all relevant industry regulations and practices in the U.S.A. and North Carolina. Proficiency with gas-fired boilers, HVAC systems (including chillers, air handler units, and hot water systems), purified water systems, Water For Injection stills, compressed air systems, and nitrogen systems is essential. Additionally, the candidate will oversee and execute the change control process for critical utility systems, as well as coordinate, monitor, and mentor utility technicians and contractors within the team.
Responsibilities encompass, but are not confined to:
· Ensuring the upkeep of equipment and the preservation of tools to minimize both maintenance expenses and operational downtime costs.
· Undertaking and meticulously documenting assembly, set-up, disassembly, cleaning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair tasks on utility and clean system equipment, along with the associated mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
· Assuming accountability for the operational and maintenance condition of utility and clean system equipment.
· Proposing and evaluating sanctioned enhancements to equipment, procedures, and systems.
Education:
· Completion of an Associate's or Technical degree, diploma, or certificate program from a community college or technical institute, specializing in industrial maintenance or utility systems operations.
Experience:
· A minimum of eight (8) years of recent and pertinent experience in roles such as utility technician, boiler/Physical Plant Operator, or team leader within pharmaceutical or hospital environments.
Knowledge & Skills:
· Strong proficiency in spoken and written English.
· Expertise in maintaining, assembling, setting up, disassembling, cleaning, troubleshooting, and repairing pharmaceutical utility equipment, as well as mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components and systems
The shift pattern and hours are as follows:
Night Shift Schedule: 6 pm to 6 am
1st Week: Monday-Tuesday, Friday-Saturday-Sunday
2nd Week: Wednesday-Thursday
3rd Week: Monday-Tuesday, Friday-Saturday-Sunday
4th Week: Wednesday-Thursday

Salary: $33.00 - $35.00 per hour
