* Conduct routine and targeted inspections and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
* Develop and implement a comprehensive safety program; conduct hazard analysis on equipment and processes to ensure health and safety issues are addressed.
* Conduct regulated and non-regulated training, maintain records, and conduct accident investigations to determine root cause.
* Perform building inspections on a routine schedule as a prevention/analysis of trends opportunities.
* Evaluate employee injury and illness data, work practices, and work areas to identify trends and provide information to management and supervisors so causes are targeted, thus preventing and reducing occupational injury and illness occurrences.
* Monitor worker’s compensation and return-to-work programs.
* Responsible for storm water, hazardous waste, and air emissions tracking and reporting for DNR and EPA.
* Enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing gloves, protective eyewear, safety shoes, and other PPE. Perform all other duties assigned.
Requirements:
* Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree desirable.
* 3 years of experience in an EHS position is desirable.
* Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and ordinances that govern occupational health and safety.
* Outstanding attention to detail with strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with all levels within the organization.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
* Ability to work with minimum supervision.
* Maintain accurate work and good levels of concentration.
* Ability to work in a team environment and/or on an individual basis.
* Flexible and capable of successfully performing in a fast-paced environment.
* Knowledge of all OSHA and environmental regulations.
Position Description:
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide leadership and management in complying with state and federally mandated OSHA and other safety regulations. This skilled and experienced candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to risk management, enforcing compliance, written program development and review, audits, OSHA training, DNR, and EPA reporting. He/she will work closely with supervisors/leadmen and employees on safety issues and places the safety of all employees as a number one priority. Natural motivation, positive attitude/aptitude, and outstanding attention to detail are recommended. This position requires some presence on second and third shifts.
