Imperial Healthcare Group is Hiring a RN (Registered Nurse) Unit Manager Near Schuylkill County, PA

A highly rated long-term care facility located in Schuylkill County, PA, is currently looking for a RN Unit Manager/ Infection Preventionist to join our team of healthcare professionals.

The best suited candidate:

  • Has achieved certication from CDC in Infection Prevention (or is willing to complete course withint 30 days)
  • Has worked at least one year as a nurse in a supervisory capacity
  • Has approximately 2 years' experience in a long-term care OR physical rehab setting (preferred)
  • Comfortable in holding staff accountable 
  • Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families
  • Possesses effective team problem solving and communication skills

The responsibilities & duties:

  • Monitor and provide daily oversight of resident care in accordance with facility and state standards through supervising and directing nurse staff
  • Report to the Director of Nursing to ensure excellence in quality care
  • Promote patient independence by establishing goals
  • Educate residents and their loved ones to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills
  • Resolve patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies
  • Protect residents and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations
  • Document resident care services by charting in patient and department records
  • Promote continuity among nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
  • Ensure nursing supply and equipment maintenance needs are met
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing publications
  • Maintain restorative nursing program and/or infection control
  • Be available to assist with monthly on call rotation
