Imperial Healthcare Group is Hiring a Part-Time Medical Records Coordinator Near Mills, PA

Brinton Manor HC of Glen Mills, PA is seeking to hire a full-time Medical Records Coordinator. The typical schedule is Monday-Friday with occasional weekend manager-on-duty responsibilities. ABOUT BRINTON MANOR HC

Brinton Manor is a 92-bed skilled nursing facility offering short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, and respite care. We have licensed and experienced Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapists who work on achieving a patient's prior level of function or even surpass their previous abilities. Along with the therapy team, our nursing staff extends a helping hand to the betterment of each patient. In addition to clinical services, we welcome our patients to join in the daily activities our experienced recreation staff offers. No matter the needs of our patients, we work hard to provide the best care possible.

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A MEDICAL RECORDS COORDINATOR

  • Assist in organizing, planning, and directing the medical records section in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • May give general direction to personnel throughout care center who work with patient's records
  • Understands and complies with Corporate Compliance plan
  • Participate in Quality Assurance Programs, and any other facility committee, or program which seeks to improve the performance and accuracy of resident care
  • Collect and assemble/compile records for committee review, as requested, and prepare reports for staff/other committees as directed
  • Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with our established policies and procedures, and as instructed by your supervisors
  • Maintains system of Medical Records and files for facility
  • Assembles, classifies and indexes medical data in accordance with accepted procedures and facility policy
  • file active and inactive records in accordance with established policies
  • Ensure incomplete records/charts are returned to nursing or appropriate department head for correction
  • Establish and follow a procedure to ensure records do not leave designated area except as authorized by policy and procedure
  • Retrieve medical records when requested by authorized personnel
  • Prepare statistical reports
  • codes diseases, operations and treatments according to the accepted nomenclature(ICD) of diagnostic conditions in computer in conjunction with nursing department
  • Answers inquires by telephone and correspondence regarding information in resident's records
  • Maintains and prepares abstract of case history
  • Maintains procedure manual as instructed, removing policies, replacing with new per DON
  • May act as representative of facility in Court and in other medico-legal matters as required
  • Charting that does not require a licensed nurse to perform
  • Performs other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of an accredited high school or GED preferred
  • Knowledge of office procedures, medical terminology, typing, filing, transcription, and computers is required
  • Ability to work independently or part of a group
  • Effectively communicate with others
