Impact XM Graphic Pre-press Artists utilize a variety of graphics software packages and prepare digital files for both internal and external 3rd party graphic production. Color correct files and adjust for output according to client specifications, including embedding correct PMS colors from client’s brand guidelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Complete graphic pre-press tasks assigned by the Manager, Global Graphic Pre-press in an accurate and timely manner
• Converting and preparing files received in various digital formats to required outputs for internal & external 3rd party graphic print production
• Adding proper bleed for final print production
• Creating and manipulating graphics through Adobe Creative Suite apps such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
• Formatting graphics as well as collecting, processing, and proofing various graphics files
• Assessing project specifics and creating a final product that adheres to those requirements
• Verify all images have acceptable resolution for large format. Up-res photos when needed. Call out low resolution and send screenshots and request new images or approval during proofing process
• Work with Graphic Production departments and develop output solutions, including color profiling
• Color correct files, adjust output according to client specifications, including embedding proper PMS colors
• Organize and maintain the server file system, daily backup, and digital archive of all files upon job completion
• Prioritizing time-sensitive orders
• Reviewing problem orders in a timely manner and inform Manager ASAP of the issues
• Organize and maintain basic computer hardware and their operating systems
• Develop knowledge of ongoing technical advancements in the field of design and production.
• Exceeding expectations through accuracy, efficiency, courtesy, and knowledge

Education and/or Experience

College diploma from two-year college or technical school in Graphic Arts; or 1-3 years related Design experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in the events and exhibition industry an asset.

Other Skills and Abilities

• Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud programs including but not limited to Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign & Acrobat
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software including but not limited to Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Ability to work on a Mac OS
• Detail-oriented, organized with a strong ability to follow tasks through to completion
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems.
• Able to work on multiple tasks/assignments concurrently
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Solid work ethic with a positive attitude, used to being a contributing team player
• This position requires flexible hours, possible weekend effort to support client deliverables
• Communicates effectively with required departments on project tasks
• Strong understanding of practical graphic applications
• Complete understanding of file preparation for graphic production
• Ability to fully collaborate and work in a team environment
