Subsurface Engineer TechnicianHouston, TX Primary purpose:The Analyst-Reservoir Engineer position will support the Gas Storage Engineering/Subsurface groups by completing routine engineering and regulatory reports, tracking costs for projects, curating, and analyzing operational data, and providing additional technical support where necessary. The ideal Subsurface Engineering Technician candidate would have an oil and gas operations technical experience and have aspirations to develop into an engineering or more senior operational role should the opportunity arise.Essential duties and responsibilities:
Prepare and analyze operational statistics regulatory reports (weekly, monthly, annual)
Collect and curate data weekly and provide trends to engineering and management.
Update list of operational abnormal operating conditions (AOC) and track changes
Record data from well site surveys and alert engineers of changes
Complete saltwater disposal (SWD) reports and submit to appropriate agencies
Track and code well work invoices
Assist with gas storage risk modeling effort by keeping the model up-to-date with the latest operational data and well specifications
Update wellbore and wellhead schematics during and after projects
Utilize Enverus (DrillingInfo) or similar tool to detect nearby third-party activity
Identify and improve current processes and workflows
Actively participate inregular meetings with operations and engineering teams
Verifies the accuracy of reports, maps and reservoir data
Communicate daily with subsurface engineering team and support the group’s needs as needed
Job RequirementsPreferred requirements:Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a scientific discipline.
Direct experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience/Specific Knowledge
3 years’ experience in the oil and gas and/or pipeline industry
Prior Engineering technician work
Ability to collect data and make accurate technical recommendations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
Loads and updates well data and well locations in existing databases using appropriate software. WellView and WellEZ program experience a plus
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel)

Working Conditions:
Occasional field site visits.
The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including credit report for certain positions, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
