What You’ll Be Forging:
- Lead the Crew: Manage and motivate a team of 8 direct and 200 across a 3 shift operation
- Boost Productivity: Keep the operation productive and safe, working closely with other managers and supervisors.
- Set High Standards: Maintain and exceed production goals for efficiency, material waste, and quality.
- Cut Costs, Not Corners: Drive cost and operational improvements to produce top-quality products at the best prices.
- Plan for Success: Develop and roll out the Capital Plan to keep up with demand.
- Engage and Inspire: Create a culture of engagement and set a strategic direction for your team.
- Safety First: Lead health, safety, and environmental processes for the entire facility.
- Always Improving: Push continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma, and similar principles.
What We're Looking For:
- Educational Background: BA/BS in Operations Management, Business Management, or equivalent of 7 years of operational leadership experience.
- Experience: 7 years in a metal manufacturing, ideally in machining, welding, stamping, casting or similar fields.
- Proven Track Record: Success in understanding yields, managing labor, and driving efficiencies; experience with tracking systems is a plus.
- Flexibility: Thrive in a fast-paced environment using lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
