Impact Solutions is Hiring a FPGA Engineer Near Boston, MA

We are seeking an experienced FPGA Engineer to join our Software team. This role involves developing cutting-edge capabilities for high-performance phased array systems and subsystems, collaborating with Systems and Hardware engineers. Reporting to the Director of Software, you will work with cross-functional teams to support the development of prototype systems as well as fielded systems that support multi-mission objectives.

The position requires working on a fast-paced development program, and we are looking for a candidate who is solution-oriented, positive, proactive, and someone who relentlessly finds ways to succeed and improve.

This position is hybrid, with a preference for the candidate to be located in the Boston, MA area. Frequent travel to the Boston office is required for hardware testing and development, and periodic travel to other company sites and project areas is also expected.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop FPGA to control custom radar system synchronization and timing
  • Develop ARM/Programmable-Logic interfaces for both high-throughput and low-throughput system needs
  • Develop time-critical capability
  • Develop, simulate, analyze, implement, test, and deploy real-time HW-based control system
  • Work with Systems, Hardware, and Software Engineers to develop, test, and validate proper operation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering or related discipline with typically a minimum of 6 years of related experience; Master's in similar disciplines with a minimum of 4 years of experience
  • Familiarity with Xilinx Vivado/Vitis toolchain development environment
  • Proficient with Verilog, SystemVerilog, and/or VHDL
  • Experience with board-level communication interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, etc.)
  • Experience bringing up HW in the lab and debugging using TCL, C, or Python code
  • Proficient in creating module-level testbenches in Verilog/SystemVerilog and simulating designs in ModelSim or QuestaSim
  • Familiar with FPGA and processor interfaces (Microblaze or ARM)

Valued Qualifications:

  • Experience with high-speed serial interfaces (3 Gbps)
  • Familiarity with Python and C/C
  • Familiarity with Yocto Linux or Petalinux
  • Familiarity with Radar systems and Signal Processing
  • Experience with Microcontroller code development and testing
