Description

As a member of the Veteran's Services Department Security Team, the Residential Monitor is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for a Veterans temporary residential home. The Residential Monitor works under the direction of the Security Manager.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor facility security and access in 8-hour shifts, 5 days a week.
• Welcome and orient new residents to facility layout
• Monitor surveillance cameras for infractions
• Maintain an activities log
• Coordinate emergency responses to crises in the facility
• Write incident reports on infractions of community guidelines
• Read, review, and write email to and from fellow staff members
• Complete and process resident intake and discharge paperwork
• Document client activities and meeting attendance
• Conduct and record freezer and refrigerator temperature checks
• Maintain medication log and monitor medication consumption as prescribed
• Perform emergency cleanup of the facility as required to maintain a safe environment
• Conduct monthly checks of fire extinguishers and smoke detectors
• Conduct and regulate monthly fire drills for the facility and its members
• Issue and manage facility parking permits
• Conduct urinalysis and process results
• Conduct and participate in shift change meetings

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school degree or equivalent
• CPR training (within 5 years)
• First Aid training (within 5 years)
• Narcan training (within 5 years)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Word
• Proficient in email use
