Impact NW is Hiring a Remote Recovery Services Specialist II

Recovery Services Specialist II is responsible for implementation of agency support programs that assist families and individuals accessing alcohol and drug treatment and recovery services. The goal of the programs is to assist clients to find or maintain housing as they engage in the process of recovery from addiction, and to support them through the process by providing intensive peer-mentoring and skill-building services. Primary responsibilities of the position include direct case management and peer-support to clients of the Recovery Navigation Program in Multnomah and Clackamas Counties, and Client Emergency Basic Needs Program. Other services include resource navigation and coordination/connection, housing and basic needs advocacy, treatment navigation, enrollment in OHP and HealthCare, and person centered, trauma informed service delivery.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Screen potential clients, ensure eligibility, and complete intakes based on program capacity, with a caseload up to 1:20.
  • Provide engagement services to clients utilizing strengths-based case management and motivational interviewing concepts. Utilize peer-support and peer-mentoring techniques to ensure that clients will stay engaged and committed to recovery.
  • Encourage clients to develop and maintain strong community-based support.
  • Maintain weekly contact with clients including tracking and documentation of the services rendered. Mandatory monthly in person meetings with clients.
  • Provide wraparound support to clients by helping them meet their basic and housing needs.
  • Provide advocacy for clients including securing benefits and accessing appropriate housing, medical, and emergency services.

  • Worker of the Day program responsibilities, including crisis intervention.
  • Coordinate, track, and support treatment agencies’ requests for client basic needs.
  • Work independently within given guidelines, show flexibility to best serve client needs, effectively engage clients in problem solving towards mutually agreed upon goals.
  • Ensure compliance with agency and funder documentation and evaluation requirements which support high staff productivity and quality client services.
  • Effectively communicate agency policy, mission, values, and decisions to clients, collaborating organizations, and the community.
  • Meet performance standards and deadlines set forth by the agency, HSN Department, and partnering agencies regarding quantity, timeliness, and quality of work.
  • Accept other work assignments as asked by agency, supervisor and HSN Leadership.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CADC and CRM certifications are required.
  • Minimum of two years of work, volunteering in social work, recovery, or related field, or lived experience.
  • One year of experience in working with families and individuals experiencing poverty and/or homelessness, or having long term mental health, addiction/recovery, and/or other long-term disabilities.
  • Sensitivity and ability to relate to people from diverse lifestyles, socioeconomic levels, and cultures with the abilities to provide culturally responsive services.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work within a strength-based, trauma-informed, and person-centered support service delivery model.
  • Ability to relate to communities of color as well as with Impact NW’s diverse community of staff and volunteers.
  • Confidence and resourcefulness in crisis situations, and sensitivity to clients in vulnerable circumstances.
  • Ability to both - work independently and be self-motivated as well as willingness to work as a team member and support Impact NW’s mission.
  • Possession of consistent professional boundaries, good organizational skills, and ability to prioritize multiple and varied tasks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Working knowledge of
  • Microsoft Office.
  • Possession of valid Driver License and up-to-date Vehicle Insurance Coverage. Ability to efficiently travel within Multnomah and Clackamas County is required.

JOB CONDITIONS:

  • Hybrid work model, minimum of 32hrs/week of in-office time required.
  • Repetitive motion, prolonged sitting, extensive visual involvement.
  • May require some early morning, evening and/or weekend meetings.
  • May be exposed to angry or distraught people.
  • Extensive driving.
