Job Description:
The Material Handler/Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe operation of a forklift.
This position requires a person who is able to work in a team environment, be
detail-oriented and have the ability to work in a fast paced environment. This position will be responsible for moving products from one location to another while maintaining the safety standards set forth by the company.
Essential Duties:
- Safely operate forklift and load/unload material from trucks and/or containers
- Unloading materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and delivering them to assigned places
- Operate various types of forklifts
- Perform pre-move inspection on equipment before operating
- Including but not limited to, moving equipment, unloading materials, loading trucks, and operating various types of machinery
- Ensure that all safety precautions are being followed at all times while operating in a steel mill/warehouse environment
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Other duties as assigned.
