Security Officers are responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all students, faculty, staff, and visitors on the University campus. Officers investigate incidents, patrol the campus, ensure buildings are secure, monitor the University switchboard, staff residence hall entrances, and enforce University policies.

This full-time position will primarily work second shift (3:00 pm - 11:00 pm), including weekend shifts as needed. This position pays $18/hr.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Internal/external foot and vehicle patrols of campus and facilities
• Enforce criminal and traffic laws, as well as University policies and regulations
• Prepare written incident reports and complete daily activity logs
• Escort students, faculty and staff as requested
• Conduct investigations as necessary
• Evaluate medical, fire and other types of potential emergency situations
• Summon appropriate emergency resources, as needed
• Monitor security cameras, access control program, and fire safety systems
• Render First aid
• Provide information/directions to students, faculty, staff and visitors.
• Maintain positive communications/interactions with students
• Traffic control for special events
• Assist in set-up/break-down of special events, as requested
• Serve as the Immaculata University telephone switchboard operator as required

Minimum Requirements:

• A high school diploma or GED
• A clean criminal history
• A valid driver's license with safe driving record
• Good reading and report writing skills
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills
• Ability to sit, stand, walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid training
• Ability to use a computer

Preferred Requirements:

Prior security or law enforcement experience is preferred. However appropriate customer service skills and an ability to learn the duties of the position will be considered.
