We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our mobile response and stabilization services (MRSS) team and provide high-quality, compassionate care to school-aged children and youth who attend Prince George’s County Public Schools. This position will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with mental health and emotional disorders, providing individual and group therapy, and prescribing medication when necessary. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is a part of a multidisciplinary Stabilization and Support team that provides intensive support to youth, families, and school staff. Meets with other multidisciplinary team members regularly to discuss treatment plans a outcomes. Stabilization period is for up to 8 weeks

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Duties and Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat mental health and emotional disorders
• Offer individual and group therapy to patients
• Prescribe and monitor medications when necessary
• Maintain detailed records of patient visits and progress
• Assist in the development of individualized treatment plans
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure patient continuity of care
• Educate patients and families about mental health and emotional disorders
• Participate in community outreach and education

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Requirements and Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing, with a specialty in Psychiatric Nursing
• Valid state licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
• 5 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred
• Knowledge of mental health and emotional disorders
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work as part of a team
• Strong organizational and time management skills
