IMGAcademyCorporateCareers is Hiring an Assistant Residential Mentor (Day) Near Bradenton, FL

The Assistant Residential Mentor, Day will be responsible for monitoring the day-to-day routines and schedules of our student-athletes and camp participants in the residence halls and promoting a safe, secure, and healthy environment for their development. This person will work across different dorms and floors to fill in on days that Residential Mentors are off duty. Position ResponsibilitiesServe as a responsible, adult presence, providing guidance and support in the residence halls for staff and student-athletesAssist enforcement of policies and procedures ensuring that the student-athlete code of conduct is being maintainedEscalate student and parent concerns, ensuring that the appropriate staff members are aware of the conditions in the dormPromote a positive healthy environment for the student-athletesMaintain the residential hall, including room checks and head countBe aware of student-athletes’ daily schedulesAssist leadership with various projectsDesign and implement residence hall programming as neededAdhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethic codesOther duties as assigned OperationsMonitor students in dorms and throughout campus, including wake up and curfew timesPerform regular walkthroughs and inspections of the residence halls working with maintenance, accommodations, and other departments to coordinate and direct upkeep requestsCoordinate with safety and security staff to ensure the security of students and residence hallsAssist with housing process including check in/out, early arrivals and opening/closing of residence hallsAttend and contribute to department meetingsAttend and contribute to general planning for Academy and summer camp programs CommunicationCommunicate and follow up on conduct expectations of all student-athletesCommunicate and enforce appropriate disciplinary actions for violationsCollaborate and communicate emergency response and crisis management plans for various situations including weather, lockdown, student illness, injury, etc.Collaborate with departments including sports, academics, health services for student-athlete’s developmentCommunicate openly and regularly with students and parents/guardiansTake detailed notes and communicate areas of note or concern effectively with the primary mentor and other Student Life leadership. Required Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Education, Child Psychology or related areaMust possess good judgment and sensitivity relating to students of various backgroundsAbility to handle challenging situations professionally and with sensitivityExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent guest service skillsHighly organized with the ability to juggle and prioritize multiple projects effectivelyAbility to multitask in a fast-paced organizationA superior work ethicDesire to work collaboratively with colleagues Preferred SkillsMaster’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Sports Management, or related areaExperience in education, sports or related areaExperience as a collegiate athleteExperience with residential life in a boarding school environment and/or summer campsExperience with working with students grades 6 to 12Experience in counseling, crisis response, and mediationExperience in a high-pressure, academic/performance settingFirst Aid and CPR CertificationProficient with computers and computer systemsBilingual Physical Demands and Work Environment Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is requiredMust be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, stairs, etc.This role is considered essential and may be required to work during weather emergencies or business closures in order to meet operational requirements
