JOB SUMMARY

The Intern - Systems Remote Field Technician role is to remotely prepare and deploy customer hardware as well as perform remote support and assistance for customers both internal and external.

The Intern - Systems Remote Field Technician will remotely support the other Systems Field Technicians by staging hardware located at any of the Locknet and perform remote end user deployments in conjunction with onsite personnel.

The Intern - Systems Remote Field Technician may go onsite for project work as required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follows established process for staging and deploying desktops, laptops, and tablets that meet EOJ standards for quality and security
  • Prioritizes and schedules project-based work, support tickets, alerts, and escalations.
  • Records, tracks, and documents steps taken in the problem-solving process
  • Accurately documents client environments including hardware, software, and network configurations in EOJ knowledge bases
  • Interacts with software and hardware vendors on the client’s behalf to resolve issue or install and updated software
  • Performs remote support, software installs, or end user setups as required
  • Access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on the Internet to aid in problem resolution
  • Identifies and learns appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization
  • Test fixes to ensure problem has been adequately resolved
  • Performs post-resolution follow-ups to help ensure customer satisfaction
  • Evaluates documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent future problems
  • Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of processes, procedures, and best practices to help ensure Field Technician processes remain safe, secure and efficient
  • Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Must be in second year of an information technology program

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with desktop, and knowledge of, server operating systems, including Windows 7/8/10/11, Server 2008-2016, Microsoft Office, M365 

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of basic computer hardware, including PC’s, printers, laptops, servers
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, active listening, and effective skills
  • Ability to absorb and retain information quickly
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective prioritization and execution sills, even under pressure
  • Exceptional customer service orientation
  • Experience working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Maintain a good driving record

The employee is frequently required to reach above, below and shoulder height, kneel, bend/stop/crouch, twist/turn and push/push/lift/carry up to 50 pounds The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb pull/push/lift/carry over 50 pounds and crawl.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
