Front Desk Agent
Duties:
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Register new patients and update existing patient information in the medical records system
- Schedule appointments for patients and coordinate with medical staff
- Answer phone calls and provide assistance or direct calls to the appropriate department
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Handle patient inquiries, resolve complaints, and provide excellent customer service
- Verify insurance information and collect co-pays or payments from patients
- Keep the front desk area clean and organized
Skills:
- Experience as a dental receptionist is preferred
- Proficiency in using Open Dental is preferred
- Strong knowledge of patient service principles and practices
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively
- Familiarity with phone systems and ability to handle high call volumes
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality
