Imagicomm Communications is Hiring a Multimedia Journalist / Anchor Near Tulsa, OK

Description

KOKI/Fox23 Tulsa has an opening for a dynamic, deadline-driven journalist who wants to make a difference. 

This position will: 1) anchor the weekend morning newscasts; 2) report as a Multimedia Journalist during the week; 3) and fill in anchoring when necessary. 

FOX23 is an exciting place to work. We are thriving in an active market with its share of weather and breaking news. We are looking for a journalist who is passionate about delivering viewer-driven newscasts. You will be part of a collaborative newsroom where we mentor, train, and coach you. We also have monthly in-house workshops where we push ourselves to learn and work smarter. We need that because our newsroom is a fast-paced environment where accuracy is a must and innovative people thrive. You will be responsible for pitching and producing enterprising content that engages our news viewers across all our platforms. 

What you will do:

  • Anchor morning newscasts on Saturdays and Sundays
  • Fill in anchor when needed
  • MMJ for station's newscasts during the week
  • Write, shoot, edit and present compelling content both on-air and online
  • Regularly post content and engage with audiences on social media platforms
  • Demonstrate solid news judgment and storytelling abilities, with a passion for delivering original, imaginative content every day
  • Excel at breaking news and enterprise significant, local stories
  • Other duties may be assigned

Requirements

  • Strong on-air presence
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Open to receiving coaching and feedback
  • Operate and maintain a professional quality video camera and related news gathering equipment
  • Be familiar with and understand non-linear editing techniques to meet deadlines and create high-impact stories
  • Understand how to properly light interviewees in the field
  • Candidate must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record to operate a company vehicle 
  • Knowledge of the Tulsa DMA and Oklahoma is helpful
  • Knowledge of non-linear editing software
  • Bachelors degree preferred

Physical Demands 

Must be able to carry and set up a camera on a tripod.
