West Tennessee (Jackson) client seeks an EHS Manager with a background in manufacturing. The company provides generous pay and excellent benefits. Relocation assistance may be available.
Looking for a Manager who will be hands-on and manage one Safety Technician. Responsibilities emphasize on Safety and Health:
· Conduct workplace surveys, safety audits, safety assessment, accident investigations.
· Develop and maintain Emergency Action Plan, Emergency Preparedness Training, including evacuation drills, and conduct periodic audits of emergency equipment and fire suppression systems.
· Provide safety trainings, with an emphasis on Behavioral Based Safety.
· Working with a broad knowledge of Federal, State, and local safety rules, and a detailed knowledge of safety engineering principles, work toward reducing accident hazards and exposures.
· Ensure compliance with all requirements, including OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other rules that affect the organization. Responsible for environmental permitting and compliance reporting.
· Establishment policies and directions concerning EHS. Implement the EHS program in compliance with corporate and government policies.
· BS degree in EHS (Environmental, Safety, and Health Engineering), Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar is preferred. Will consider incomplete degree with excellent experience.
· Must have at least three years of paid, post-graduation industrial experience, in safety, health, and environmental compliance/engineering in a manufacturing and distribution environment.
· Familiarity with local, State, and Federal EHS compliance regulations is required.
· Should have experience in developing and implementing necessary training programs in key areas such as Lock Out / Tag Out, machine guarding, emergency management, electrical safety, confined space, and hazard communications.
