Statewide Hiring & Classifications Supervisor (PSA, Opt. 1)
The Department of Juvenile Justice is seeking a motivated candidate to work closely with the Director of Human Resources, organizing, planning, implementing, and controlling the statewide operation of Human Resources functions for the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ). The individual in this position will serve as the agency contact and Human Resources Office Liaison between Central Management Systems (CMS) and assigned human resources staff located in the central office and in facilities throughout the state of Illinois. The individual in this position will speak for the Director of Human Resources and Chief of Staff in coordinating and implementing human resource issues. Serves as a full line supervisor for IDJJ Human Resources staff and travels in the performance of duties as required. All qualified applicants encouraged to apply.

The mission of the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice (IDJJ) is to build youth skills and strengthen families by promoting community safety and positive youth outcomes. Over 900 staff members from across various departments—security, programming, education, mental health, and more—collaborate with the understanding that youth are physically, emotionally, and cognitively different from adults. The department provides extensive services to young people through a developmental, treatment-focused model of care that builds youth resiliency, engages families, and promotes community safety at the five youth facilities it operates across the state. IDJJ serves and houses approximately 150 youth and is responsible for approximately 500 youth on Aftercare in various Illinois’ communities.
