The reconciliations accountant at the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity monitors and verifies the accuracy of large, complex financial datasets, comparing agency records with that of the Illinois Office of the Comptroller and that of external funders like the US Department of Labor and US Department of Health and Human Services. This position plays a key role in maintaining the Department’s internal accounting system, SAP, and is instrumental in maintaining accounts utilized by the State of Illinois foreign trade offices administered by DCEO’s Office of Trade & Investment. The ideal candidate will be exceptionally detail-oriented, is excited to show off their Excel skills, and sees numbers out of balance as a challenge and a puzzle that is ready to solve!
