Duties & Responsibilities
Assist ACES students in making decisions about about their education, training, jobs/internships by providing the appropriate advice, information and guidance.
Develop and deliver applicable information, resources, and student development programs/events to enhance undergraduate and graduate students’ ability to transition into the professional workforce. Program delivery will require a diversity of delivery methods.
Communications & Outreach • Partner with ACES Corporate Relations and Alumni Relations Coordinator to support student career development initiatives to engaging alumni and corporations. • Facilitate communication and activities of career development with other student success coordinators as well as with departmental representatives and campus partners. • Utilize industry organizations, alumni relationships, faculty, and other resources and partnerships for student development and career readiness needs.
Data & Reporting • Assist with graduate career assessment, research, and reporting related to career services and student engagement in professional development. • Assist with administration and data collection of first destination surveys as well as compiling reports and summaries for the college, department, and campus. • Develop and manage budgets for monies allocated or earmarked for career services and student development functions.
Collaborate with faculty to serve as a resource for incorporating career/professional development topics into curriculum and other developmental student initiatives.
Provide leadership in the recruitment, selection training and management of student staff who have career development responsibilities. Serve as co-advisor for the ACES Career Liaisons.
Collaborate with other Career Development Offices, ACES, Study Abroad, and Academic Program staff on joint initiatives such as career fairs and student leadership development programs such as JBT Scholar program and the Alpha Zeta agricultural leadership society.
