Illinois Valley Community College is Hiring a Dean of Workforce Development, Full Time, Search Extended Near Illinois, IL

Description: Dean, Division of Workforce Development

Reports To:  Vice President for Academic Affairs

Salary Range: Exempt, starting salary $74,491 annually based on qualifications and experience, excellent benefits package

Job Summary: Provides academic, budgetary, administrative, and managerial leadership to the division, and assists the Vice President for Academic Affairs in the academic, budgetary, administrative, and managerial leadership of the College. Supervises faculty and staff including full-time and part-time faculty in the areas of automotive technology, certified production technician, computer aided design, computer networking, cybersecurity, electronics, heating ventilation and air conditioning, manufacturing, renewable wind energy, truck driver training, welding, and other related career programs. The Dean supports teaching, learning and assessment, and works collaboratively with other College leaders in creating and sustaining a culture that promotes student learning and responds to the needs of the Illinois Valley community.

Qualifications: 
  • Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in a discipline represented in the division required. Doctoral Degree preferred.
  • Teaching experience required. Community college or university teaching experience preferred.
  • Experience in leading an academic unit or similar structure required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage faculty and staff and budgets required. Development of programs or similar processes preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of educational pedagogy and new methodologies, strategies, and tools, including technologies and multi-media that support engaged learning as well as the needs of underprepared students required.
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including record of effective team work and collaboration required.
  • Demonstrated experience with assessment of student learning and faculty development preferred.
