Illinois Central School Bus is Hiring a Technician in Charge Near Coal, IL
Job Purpose:
Maintains, repairs, and overhauls school buses and school bus equipment. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Directs the work of others. Trains and motivates maintenance staff.
Responsibilities:
Schedules and administers fleet maintenance, assists in troubleshooting problems with equipment. Communicates availability of vehicles for service with dispatch and Contract Manager.
Delegates responsibilities as appropriate and monitors performance; handles disciplinary concerns and employee development.
Ensures compliance on a day-to-day basis with State, Federal and Company requirement.
Works closely with Contract Manager providing status of maintenance and budget requirements. Reviews repair orders.
May order parts, and subcontract repair work.
Use computer diagnostic equipment and computers for various task.
Complete required paperwork on an timely basis and comprehend technical manuals
Simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete assigned tasks
Have a sufficient ability to communicate, through sight, hearing, and/or otherwise, to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions
Ability to follow directions and routines.
Ability to work independently with appropriate judgment
Use computer diagnostic equipment and computers for various tasks
Complete required paperwork on an timely basis and comprehend technical manuals
Simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete assigned tasks
Operate power, pneumatic hand tools
Perform other functions that may be assigned
Education and Requirements:
Meet D.O.T. requirements and be CDL qualified as required by job assignment
Report to work on a regular and timely basis and complete the scheduled workday on a consistent basis
Ability to work varying shifts, additional hours and/or overtime depending on service needs
Stand for extended periods of time on concrete floors and other level and non-level surfaces
Sitting required infrequently throughout the duration of the workday
Lift, lower, push, pull, leverage and manipulate equipment and/or packages weighing up to 70 pounds
Assist in moving equipment up to 150 pounds
Work cooperatively in a diverse work environment
Have a sufficient ability to communicate, through sight, hearing, and/or otherwise, to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions
Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb ladders and stairs, reach, pull, grasp, lift, stand, walk, and turn/pivot frequently throughout the duration of the workday
Full-time: 8-10 hours per day, 5 days per 7-day week
Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
