Description
The Patient Access Representative has a full understanding of the entire cycle as they address a variety of patient inquiries which is an important role in achieving excellent patient satisfaction results with an emphasis on registration and scheduling of our patients.
Responsibilities
- Answers all incoming patient calls
- Register new patients
- Identify best provider match for patient's needs and schedule patient with that provider
- Collect patient balances; run cc payments
- Provides Payment options to patients
- Identify errors, correct and communicate to management
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Accounts Receivable knowledge
- Adheres to organizational policies and procedures, including Corporate Compliance Program, HIPAA regulations.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, HMO/PPO/EPO, Work Comp and Commercial Insurance operating procedures
- Ability to effectively correspond and interact with patients, insurance payers, co-workers, management, and providers both verbally and in writing.
- Exhibit teamwork and a positive attitude in the workplace
- Skilled in planning/organization, follow up, delegation, problem solving, and stress tolerance
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- High School Graduate
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Healthcare
- Strong communication and customer service skills
