ILLA Canna is Hiring a Cultivation Technician I Near Sylmar, CA

About Us:

ILLA Canna is a growing movement in the Cannabis industry and we need motivated and dedicated workers to start building our brand. We have built new warehouses with moveable tiered growing platforms that will support our hydroponically grown cannabis crops. Our building will support our own line of flowers, edibles, concentrates, and so much more. But we cannot start without growing the best quality flower without giving the best attention to our plants. We are looking for someone to manage our day-to-day cultivation operations and provide support through all stages of plant growth and manufacturing. Every day will present different challenges and you will be looked at consistently to provide the best service and innovative solutions for your team to produce the highest quality products.

About the Job:

As a Cultivation Technician I the individual must provide care and support for plant cultivation, abiding by policies, procedures, and operational guidelines. Duties will include the following:

Cultivation Tasks: Assist with all aspects of cannabis cultivation, including

planting, watering, pruning, and harvesting plants according to standard

operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Plant Maintenance: Monitor plant health and report any abnormalities or signs of pests or disease to supervisors promptly.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness and organization within the cultivation area, including sanitizing equipment and workspaces to prevent contamination.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with inventory tracking, including labeling weighing, and documenting plants and cultivation supplies.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations governing cannabis cultivation.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate cultivation equipment, such as irrigation systems, lighting fixtures, and ventilation systems, under the supervision of experienced staff.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other cultivation technicians and supervisors to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay informed about best practices in cannabis cultivation and seek opportunities for professional development and growth.

General Requirements:

  • Due to state regulations, qualified candidates for this position must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check (excluding marijuana related charges)
  • Must be able to work on ladders or scaffolding 10ft-20ft high
  • Must be able to bend and twist body in narrow aisles
  • Capable of lifting and moving 50lbs
  • Requires working in a hot and humid environment with PPE like a long sleeve shirt and pants
  • Will be wearing PPE most of the work shift
  • Non-slip shoes and UV light blocking glasses will be provided by the company
  • Must be able to work weekends and various shift times
  • Ability to work in a team environment and be detailed oriented to produce wok that is completed quickly and accurately

Desired Qualities and Skills:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience in agriculture, horticulture, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Passion for Cannabis: Genuine interest in the cannabis industry and a desire to learn about cultivation techniques and best practices.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions precisely.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Team Player: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, with the flexibility to adapt to new tasks and responsibilities.

Schedule:

  • Alternative Work Schedule with 4 days a week and 10 hour days
  • Weekends required
  • Rotations to off shifts as needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour
