This is a work-from-home position with the occasional sit visit. Must live in the Chicago area!!
- Support Design Engineers, utilizing CAD Software.
- Assist with the training of Design Technicians and Drafters on team with management direction.
- GPS survey, overhead/underground line locating, inspections, testing, and documentation of power distribution or gas distribution.
- Drafting, engineering calculations, easement validation; design/construction cost estimating & permit package development.
- Managing multiple projects.
- Aptitude to review Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Organize projects for construction across multiple departments to accomplish timely construction and meet customer, crew members or client needs within the timeframe.
- Associates Degree in Engineering Technology, preferred.
- 3 years of experience with utility drafting and design.
- Experience with GIS, AutoCAD or MicroStation knowledge, preferred.
- Must be able to interpret technical documentation including blueprints and construction specifications.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- 80% work from home (remote), 20% site visits local to Chicago and surrounding areas.
