The IHOP Hostperson/Cashier is responsible for insuring the prompt recognition and seating of all guests in outlets as assigned and assists the servers in providing attentive, courteous and efficient service to guests throughout their dining experience. He/she is also responsible for cashiering and/or assisting the cashier in the collection of payment of all guests transactions.
Qualification Standards
Education & Experience:

• High School diploma and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.

Physical/Mental Requirements:

• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Light work - exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally.
• Must be able to multi-task.
• Must be able to anticipate needs of guests & associates before it becomes a necessity.
• Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc., from disparate sources and consider, adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need

Duties & Functions

• Maintain a high standard of appearance and grooming
• Greet and seat guests at appropriate tables in a timely manner.
• Pay out tips to servers and service attendants when appropriate.
• Thorough knowledge of IHOP menu and IHOP specials.
• Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
