IHCS is Hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) Near Chico, CA

Summary: The Peg Taylor Center, Butte County’s only provider of Adult Day Health Care, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our interdisciplinary team and help us to continue our 35-year history of excellence. This is the perfect role for an energetic, compassionate RN who would like to make a difference in the lives of seniors and adults with disabilities.

Our Program: The Peg Taylor Center for Adult Day Health Care is a close-knit, uplifting weekday health and social services program that works to improve the well-being and quality of life of older adults, as well as younger adults with disabilities. Our model of support offers a uniquely positive opportunity for a caring RN to make a difference in the lives of adults in our community. The RN plays a vital role on the Peg Taylor Center’s Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), which also includes social workers, physical, occupational and speech therapists, therapeutic activity coordinators, and dieticians, as well as a consulting physician and pharmacist. With weekly IDT meetings and regular teamwork among staff, this role provides a unique opportunity to ensure that participants’ needs are truly being met.

The Peg Taylor Center’s RN assists participants and their families with the management of their health conditions and related needs. The goal of adult day health care is to enable seniors to live safely at home in the community setting of their choice, avoiding nursing home placement and maintaining greater independence. Program participants can enjoy a stimulating day at the Center with others, while receiving individualized care, activities and rehabilitation. This ensures that caregiving family members have respite and support. Our non-profit program has a distinguished 35-year history of improving health outcomes, ending isolation, and supporting local families.

The Peg Taylor Center’s specially designed facility is located at 124 Parmac Road in Chico (our building is just behind the Lucian Manor Senior Apartments, which are along the street at 120 Parmac Road). The Center’s program hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Office hours are Mondays through Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The registered nurse (RN) at the Peg Taylor Center assesses and addresses the needs of program participants to support their overall health, safety, independence, and wellbeing. The RN conducts initial and ongoing assessments, designs person-centered care plans to improve and maintain health, and provides nursing treatments. The RN also provides oversight for the personal care and related services provided to participants by the center’s Program Assistants and other staff. The RN coordinates nursing assessments, care and treatments with the participant services provided by the Peg Taylor Center's full Inter-Disciplinary Team; this includes the consulting physician, social workers, physical, occupational and speech therapists, activity coordinator and dietitian. The RN also coordinates medication-related services with the Peg Taylor Center’s Pharmacist through quarterly consultations.
