RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supplier Evaluation and Qualification:
- Assess potential suppliers based on quality criteria, capabilities, and compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with procurement, quality, and associated teams to establish supplier quality requirements.
- Quality Assurance Planning:
- Develop and implement quality assurance plans for new and existing suppliers.
- Collaborate with quality to define quality metrics, inspection criteria, and acceptance criteria for incoming components and assemblies.
- Supplier Audits and Assessments
- Conduct supplier audits to evaluate adherence to quality management systems, processes, and specifications.
- Identify areas on non-compliance and work with suppliers to implement corrective actions.
- Working with vendors to enhance the product process on the job description.
- Quality Control and Inspection
- Collaborate with sales and quality to establish inspection plans for incoming components and assemblies.
- Non-conformance Management
- Investigate and resolve non-conformances and quality issues with suppliers.
- Implement corrective actions to address root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Supplier Evaluation
- Analyze quality data pertaining to suppliers and create scorecards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier quality performance.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (Engineering or science field preferred)
- 2-5 Years of proven experience in supplier quality/mechanical role.
- Experience with metal, plastic, and electronic suppliers preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Experience conducting suppler audits and assessments.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, and Teams
- Must be able to travel internationally (Germany) for training, if needed.
- Exposure to ISO procedures.
- While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or listen, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to operate quality equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season.
