Ignite is currently seeking a driven, detail-oriented Technical Writer/Policy Analyst (Senior) to join our team supporting US Army Contract, in Huntsville, Al. This position is on-site. As a Technical Writer, you will write accurate, engaging, user-friendly documentation that adheres to customer directed style guidelines. You will also write documentation used by federal customers in making decisions on data management/strategy. The Technical Writer works under general direction of managers and senior team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

Responsible for content of technical documentation. Checks author’s document for spelling, grammar and content problems (e.g., missing instructions or sections; redundant or unnecessary sections). Accuracy of content may fall under this position or the programmer, depending on the expertise of the writer. Ensures that documents follow the style laid out in the organization’s style guide. May also be responsible for maintaining the style guide. Suggests revisions to the style guide as appropriate. 

Job Requirements

Job Requirements and Qualifications: 

A minimum of 7 years of work experience. 

  • Reviews, edits, and works with Knowledge Managers to ensure the lifecycle of program documentation are maintained and up to date.
  • Supports implementation of new projects and upgrades to existing projects by developing and delivering project technical documentation and facilitating collaboration by establishing meeting locations, shared workspaces, agendas, and meeting records.
  • Updates or creates project documents including project, modification, administration support guide, version description, interface requirements/guide, troubleshooting guide, user/analyst guide, physical and logical layer diagrams, and other necessary project documentation.
  • Coordinates the approval of all documents for acceptance.
  • Provides technical support services with the IT Service Management (ITSM) framework for Infrastructure Operations (IO).
  • Provide proof readings, editing, and formatting of various documents according to the Army policy.
  • Work in an operational, program, and administrative support capacity and collaborate across the Operational Branches within the CIO/G6.
  • Provide operational support to include tracking, maintaining, and analyzing acquisition actions.
  • Updating, analyzing, and evaluating organizational processes procedures, and guidance.
  • Plan and write Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs), memorandums, orders, standard operating procedures (SOP), battle rhythms and technical documents, as required.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Expert in: Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Pro, Excel, Power Point, Project, SharePoint, TEAMS, and other administrative/visual support tools.
  • 4 years of experience writing complex documentation for Government/DoD systems.
  • Strong writing, production, and technical editing skills.
  • Very strong analytical skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with evolving project requirements and priorities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, including willingness and ability to consult with subject matter experts from engineering, support, and product management.

Security Clearance Requirements 

Must have an active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one. 

Education Requirements: 

Master's or BA in a related field with 84 months of experience with technical writing Army Documentation

Other Requirements: 

Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain and hold an active Security Clearance
