Ignite Human Capital is Hiring a Trade Deduction Specialist Near San Diego, CA

Job Summary: 
As a Trade Deduction Specialist, will focus on validating, resolving, and reporting against Top customer deductions in an efficient and timely manner, while identifying areas of risk and improvement. Your expertise will be instrumental in meticulously navigating deduction processes, ensuring financial accuracy, and optimizing profitability. As a valued member of our team, you will uphold the highest standards of financial integrity while contributing to the strategic growth and success of our organization.We value dedicated individuals who are self-motivated, ambitious and have an eye for detail, with a “roll up your sleeves” mentality. In this role, you will not only support the existing processes but also find efficiencies and scalable solutions to create continuous improvements. You will be an expert on our Trade Management System (TPM) and support the upkeeping of master data while identifying ways to optimize our Trade management program. The Trade Specialist will also play a key role in supporting the Trade Manager in the preparation of post event ROI analysis and assisting in the monthly close process. 

Responsibilities:

Deductions & Trade Management:
  • Data Precision: Ensure accuracy in deduction balances & reconciliation side.
  • Strategic Insight: Actively participate in internal sales meetings and broker interactions to gain a deep understanding of trade agreements, facilitating informed decision-making.
  • Derive insights from researching, analyzing, and offsetting all deductions into planned events and/or GL accounts, while identifying invalid deductions to dispute, track and report against. Proactively work with Sales, Cops & Logistics to minimize risk across accounts.
  •  Other duties as assigned. 
Interdepartmental Collaboration:
  • Oversee and collaborate with Accounts Receivable team to ensure all transactions and documentation is accounted for and properly posted.
  • Work closely with Sales, Customer Operations, and logistics team to support validation & recovery process for deductions taken.
Insights:
  • Empower yourself and teams with actionable insights derived from data and leverage that to reduce the overall impact on the business.
  • Support the Sr. Manager derive drivers of customer variances from plans.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in accounting, business, or equivalent work experience.
  • Preferred 2-3 years of high-volume deduction management experience or some accounting experience within CPG.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to adapt and work effectively with multiple systems.
  • Vividly or other Trade promotion management system experience a plus.
  • Highly organized, analytical and detail oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Work is performed inside a temperature-controlled office building with open floor plan. This job operates in a professional office environment with a business casual dress code. This role will routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
