Position Description:

Ignite is hiring experienced Space Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) analysts to support United States Space Force strategy to detect, identify, characterize, track, target, catalogue, and attribute space and near-space threats to the United States space assets and space infrastructure. Familiarity with Defense Space and National Security Space in the areas of strategy, requirements, capabilities, architectures, programs, acquisition, and operations are essential attributes. The qualified applicant will provide local support to the customer with expertise in ISR systems/processes.

This position requires significant technical understanding of space based ISR as well as significant experience in space operations across joint, intelligence community, industry, international and/or other government organizations. Experience with and understanding of the intelligence community is also desired.

This position will also provide analytical support to enable operational and strategic assessments using all-source, including MASINT, GEOINT, ELINT, SIGINT, HUMINT, and OSINT, intelligence by researching, authoring, coordinating, and collaborating with the Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) as they relate to foreign threats operating in space and/or thru the space domain.

Apply knowledge of networks and technology and experience with customer tools and databases to identify, extract, and analyze pertinent information and provide technical analysis to enhance existing and future defensive capabilities. Apply seasoned experience of fusing intelligence analysis with the current space threat environment to support the development of future countermeasure strategies. The candidate will support the customer both in Colorado Springs, Colorado, as well as provide support at multiple locations across the United States. Most of the work will be performed in an office environment but will also include time at integration laboratories and research facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • The qualified applicant will provide support to a U.S. Government customer with expertise in space-based ISR technologies, tactics/techniques/procedures, and threats to U.S. space capabilities and technologies.
  • Assist U.S Government customer in assessing technology and system maturity assessments, distilling technical material and crafting narrative for senior congressional, department, service, and interagency leadership.
  • Develop technology roadmaps and technology maturation schedules in support of force design efforts.
  • Coordinate with science and technology development community and develop recommendations for technology investments to maximize force design capabilities.
  • Utilize comprehensive understanding of IMINT, OSINT, SIGNIT, MASINT and HUMINT capabilities to combine disparate data into to cogent / organized information.
  • Conduct extensive research and provide intelligence analysis on adversarial capabilities involving space/counterspace, emerging space related technology, changes in space policy and/or doctrine, and employment of space capabilities in peacetime and conflict.
  • Develop and communicate assessment for multiple concepts regarding technology readiness levels, manufacturing readiness levels, and program maturity.
  • Liaise with national-level intelligence agencies and DoD scientific and technical intelligence centers and represent USSF/S2 in national IC interagency and international working groups as required.
  • Support the development of new capability concepts, doctrine, Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TT&Ps), and other non-materiel solutions for terrestrial, maritime, air, space, and cyber integration.
  • Support U.S. Government Customer staff and sub-unit activities in the National Capital Region and engagements with key mission partners.
  • Assist U.S. Government Customer in assessing technology and system maturity assessments, distilling technical material and crafting narrative for senior congressional, department, service, and interagency leadership.
  • Collaborate with multiple space system development and ISR Community organizations; and develop comprehensive intelligence threat assessments.
  • Collaborate in cross-functional planning, coordination and task execution involving the full spectrum of systems engineering and integration activities for a force design effort.
  • Coordinate efforts internally and externally with multiple agencies/organizations.
  • Recommend and document force design dependencies and opportunities (joint, intelligence community, industry, international and other government organizations).

Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:

  • Current TS/SCI with ability to obtain poly
  • Must have at least have (14) fourteen years of experience with a four-year degree, BS/BA or (9) nine years with a master’s degree
  • Previous experience as an Intelligence Analyst in support of an Intelligence Community mission; previous intelligence integration experience a plus.

Required Skills:

  • Significant technical understanding of Space-based ISR systems across joint, intelligence community, industry, international and/or other government organizations.
  • Familiarity with Defense Space and National Security Space in the areas of strategy, requirements, capabilities, architectures, programs, acquisition, and operations.
  • Excellent oral and written communications and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to produce concise products suitable for senior leader presentation.
  • Highly skilled in all applications of Microsoft Office 365 and cloud based collaborative applications.
  • Ability to actively participate in a team environment, working collaboratively as well as independently.
  • Experience in space intelligence analysis, employment of space assets, or space collection capabilities.

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with developing complex space system models and simulations with industry standard tools such as STK, SOAP, AFSIM, and/or NGTS
  • Familiarity with a programming language such as R, Python or similar.
  • Demonstrated use in employing one or more of the following methodologies: statistical modeling; experimental design; research design; sampling; clustering; data reduction; confidence intervals; testing modeling, or predictive modeling in support of an intelligence mission.

The estimated payrate for this position is $150,000 to $180,000 depending on qualifications and expertise.
