Position Title Custodian Position Number 998824 Position Status Full-Time Regular Work Hours 6:00am-3pm, Monday-Friday. Stand-by/on-call rotation is required, as well as some weekends. Position Specific Responsibilities The position of Custodian is responsible for completing cleaning and stocking duties in assigned areas and may require the operation of technical equipment. Promotes Green cleaning and maintenance in day-to-day tasks and practices to advance healthier work environments. This position will provide custodial support to Shocker Hall, The Flats, and The Suites. Summary of Responsibilities Performs routine manual work in cleaning, servicing, and stocking supplies in University buildings.

Essential Functions Cleans and services assigned areas in University buildings and maintains sufficient stock and supplies for the proper performance of these duties.

Sweeps, mops, and buffs and sprays buff floors and vacuums rugs and carpets in assigned area as needed.

Cleans rest rooms, offices, and replenishes supplies.

Washes windows, walls, and other assigned areas. Picks up trash, empties garbage containers, and removes all trash to area for disposal.

Shovels and removes snow and ice from designated areas such as roofs, sidewalks and entryways as required.

Ability to understand and operate basic functions on computers, electronic devices, and cell phones.

Ability to learn the operation and care of vacuum cleaners scrubbing machines, polishing machines, and other janitorial equipment.

Ability to work effectively with fellow workers and others.
