Job Description

Provide engineering support to the design, development, and testing of the Flight Controls system for a rocket that is the cornerstone of an exciting space program in the new era of human exploration beyond Earth’s orbit. Flight Controls include the avionics components required to control rocket engines and propellant flow, sending the rocket along its trajectory. The primary responsibilities of this position include verifying system requirements, component testing, integrating hardware/firmware with flight software, coordinating with and directing component suppliers, and conducting analyses.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (preferred), Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field
• 1 year experience with aerospace avionics. This position is open to a range of experience levels.
• Ability to obtain a secret clearance
• U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with rocket avionics design, development, and testing, including with systems that control rocket flight
• Knowledge of rocket propulsion systems, including liquid engines, valve operations, and propellant tanks
• Knowledge of the MIL-STD-1553 communications protocol

Location - Huntsville, AL. Some travel required (roughly quarterly) to component suppliers and test sites.
