Overview

iDirect Government is a leading ground systems provider to the military satellite industry. We offer platforms connecting a variety of satellite constellations with an array of hub and remote terminal products. Terminals are installed on aircraft, maritime vessels, and other ground-based military and government assets. These terminals provide internet and voice connectivity to remote and austere locations where traditional ground and cellular based infrastructure is unavailable. iDirect Government is seeking an experienced Product Manager with a proven track record of success. This individual must be ready for the challenges, responsibilities and rewards that come with working in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. The Product Manager is responsible for driving the company’s growth and managing the lifecycle for products in both a pre- and post-development environment. This position is located in Herndon, VA with an opportunity for a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Closely monitor market and customer needs and work within a cross-functional environment to translate into enhancements to existing products and new product introductions.
• Ability to assess market requirements, investigate new technologies, develop recommendations for technical product direction, and establish marketing and pricing plans and strategies.
• Participate in competitive market research activities including ongoing information gathering, strategic assessment and communication across the organization.
• Understand the customer environment from a product and technical perspective, comprehending their business applications and aligning assigned products with their business goals and objectives.
• Participate in the creation and ongoing maintenance of value propositions, customer presentations, web content and sales collateral across all product lines.
• Demonstrate strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills through regular interaction with customers, partners, global sales and executive management.
• Take a leadership role in co-managing the organization’s New Product Introduction process for assigned projects, which includes the effective and efficient conceptualization of identified new products and features.
• Perform sales training, participate in sales calls when required and assume the role of product expert both inside and outside the company.
• Work collaboratively with Marketing to develop sales promotions and programs for assigned products.
• Work collaboratively with customers, Sales, SEs, Marketing, analysts, and others to incorporate key product requirements into the PRD process.
• Interface with engineering, sales and operations teams and functions as single point of contact for all inquiries and communications related to assigned products.
• Position reports to the Vice President of Product Management.

Qualifications

• 5 years progressive experience as Product Manager in STEM related field; satellite, networking, or telecommunications experience preferred.
• Proven track record of defining and managing new product initiatives.
• Previous experience managing a successful hardware and software-based product family within the communications industry.
• Insightful business acumen, a thorough understanding of communications technology, and effective negotiating and influencing skills.
• Effective presentation, written and verbal communication skills demonstrated through regular interaction with customers, partners, global sales and executive management.

Education: Requires BS in Engineering, Computer Science or related field: or equivalent experience; MBA preferred.

Clearance: Active DoD clearance preferred, or ability to obtain up to a TS level clearance.
