IDEXX has just launched Vello, a pet owner engagement software, and we're looking for a dedicated UX Designer to join the Vello team either locally in Westbrook Maine (partially remote) or fully remote. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about the user experience, who has experience working in both the design and research space as we align solutions to our customers and their needs.
What is Vello you ask? Vello is a pet owner engagement software solution that seamlessly connects veterinary practices and clients. It unlocks efficiencies for veterinary clinics with tools that improve pet owner compliance and reduce no-shows, foster productive conversations, and reduce time spent on the phone. We're pretty excited to see Vello in the market and the positive impact it'll have for our customers. Initial Vello users show an average 19% reduction in no show rate, enabling more clinical visits. We want to see this number grow and what other impacts Vello can have on the Veterinary Industry! Pets and tech, it's a winning combo!

A bit more about the role, you will:
Work with the UX project lead to access usability projects and select appropriate research, modeling and evaluation methods to utilize.
Work with product managers, interface designers, and development staff to plan and design research activities.
Execute research activities and analyze results and report findings from research.
Design user interfaces for Company software and web products to meet customer needs and deliver optimum user experience.
Collaborate on interface idea generation, design and prototyping and works with project staff throughout development and testing phases to complete projects.
Coordinates with the UX lead, additional UX designers, product management, development, quality assurance and usability engineers to understand product requirements and identify solutions to user interface challenges.
Develop creative responses to UX issues that arise during development and testing.
Build prototypes and simulations of user interfaces.
Produce wireframes, flow diagrams, specifications and other design related documentation.
Extend and maintain pattern libraries, and other standards resources, to document common approach to Company user interface design.
Build interface design discipline as a component of the product development process.
Advocate for user-centered design process and contributes to overall user experience of Company products.
So what are we looking for?
Software interaction design experience.
UX research experience
Knowledge of user-centered design philosophy and process.
Knowledge of software and product development methodologies.
Working knowledge of Figma prototyping software and similar visioning tools, experience with Design Systems a plus.
Basic meeting facilitation and specification writing skills.
Hands-on experience with multiple interaction design projects as team member.
Typically 4 years’ experience.
