  • You will be virtually coordinating logistic and procurement activities with our government service client, our military service members, and our CONUS and OCONUS workforce to provide operational support, system sustainment, and training on the Family of Systems of biometric collection devices.

  • This is an opportunity to support the Army's biometric collection mission to collect, match, and compare fingerprints, iris images, and facial photos to establish identity superiority and maintain identity dominance in all areas of military operations. As a key member of the biometric team, you will work closely with the warfighter to ensure 100% availability of all biometric assets. As the team's lead logistician, you will advise and assist as necessary to ensure users have the biometric equipment needed to complete the mission. These important biometric systems within the Customer's biometric Family of Systems give soldiers the decisive edge on the battlefield and their success is attributed to a candidate's ability to work with an operational mindset and complete the mission.
  • You will acquire a deeper understanding of the US Army Acquisition and Procurement Management System as well as develop strong managerial skills balanced by an operational mindset focused on the success of the biometric mission.
Typical Day:
You will be coordinating logistic activities including contacting vendors for material quotes, costs, and licenses, and coordinating with other logisticians or Field Service Representatives for the supply of CONUS OCONUS sites. You will interact with the Contracting officer representative, the engineering team, and the program cost analyst when requesting purchases. You will occasionally work in an offsite warehouse for labeling, inventory, and shipment of materials.
Tasks:
Performs logistic program activities from the conceptual stage through the life cycle of the product. Develops, implements, and/or maintains logistics program activities including ILS, technical documentation, RAM, provisioning, etc.; coordinates logistic efforts of government and biometric field service representatives; resolves logistics problems; and compiles data on standardization and interchangeability of parts to expedite logistic activities.
  • Interact and professionally exhibit customer service skills and be able to present a positive approach to customers and peers.
  • Ensure that government-furnished equipment (GFE) and/or materials temporarily under the control of contractors are accounted for at all times.
  • Perform physical inventories of all GFE equipment and document via DD Form 250 and DD Form 1149 as required.
  • Apply inventory control tags and/or Item Unique Identification (IUID) where applicable.
  • Coordinate shipping/receiving of equipment with CONUS and OCONUS managers.
  • Coordinate the shipping and return of broken-down GFE covered under manufacturer warranty or other repair commitment to and from repair/replacement locations.
  • Maintain the ability to generate reports on the status of equipment including location, repair status, shipping schedule, distribution, disposition, and other logistical-related functions.
  • Investigate best courses of action for the resolution of logistical problems, and advise these both verbally and in writing to program managers when called upon to do so.
  • Provide advice and training where necessary to other program staff on logistical or property management responsibilities.
  • Maintain inventory control processes to account for property received, shipped, excess, moved, or in transit.
  • Perform data entry, research, and documentation of receiving issues in the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A) or other government, program, or company database.
  • Interact with vendors, OEMs, FSRs, and other customers to obtain information, reconcile inventory discrepancies, prepare RMAs, and obtain the estimated date of delivery (EDD).
  • Generate documentation and complete required forms for shipping to include PerForma, International Trafficking in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and other shipping documents and labels such as those required for hazardous materials.
  • Maintain control of the Authorized Stockage Listing (ASL) and perform required inventories/audits.
  • Advise non-logistics managers of best technologies, methods, and processes for the effective and efficient logistical management of property assigned to the various parts of the program.
  • Ability to lead logistician teams, and mentor less experienced team members.
  • Must be able to withstand the physical demands of seasonal hot or cold temperatures and willing to live and operate in an austere environment.
  • Use a floor jack or forklift when loading or unloading pallets.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, bins, or containers according to a predetermined sequence.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Must be capable of meeting standards of fitness for deployment to the SWA of Operations.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs, climb ladders, and be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Report to the Operations Manager.
Required Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of experience
  • Experience with acquisition logistics planning and execution through the program life cycle phases of a respective US Army program
  • Experience with Army logistics support functions and automated support systems.
  • Experience with, training, maintenance and personnel support planning logistics documentation, and supply management
  • The candidate must be fully proficient in the use of PC's and all programs included in the Microsoft Office application suite
Desired Qualifications:
  • Previous experience with Army or SOCOM biometrics applications
  • DAWIA Certified in Lifecycle Logistics
  • Advanced education in supply chain and/or logistics management
  • Providing logistic support in an austere environment
  • Knowledge of DPAS, APMS, CHESS, and ITAS requirements and processes
Physical Requirements:
Physical demands vary from sitting at a desk to occasional warehouse work. Phone use and PC or laptop. May require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files up to 25 lbs.
