Regional Early Literacy Manager
Role Mission: The Regional Early Literacy Ma nager serves as an expert in Reading Mastery Transformations and Wit Wisdom within an assigned region, managing and supporting student academic achievement through data analysis, consistent quality coaching and training of leaders. The Regional Early Literacy Coach supports the improvement of instructional clarity, content, and execution of a balanced literacy approach in K-2 through Reading Mastery Transformations the content and curricular capacities of regional Academy leaders . As a regional team member, the Early Literacy Manager will collaborate across regions and with National teams to implement comprehensive, user friendly and aligned processes that empower school leaders to lead instruction, increase teacher effectiveness and maximize student results.
Location:
This is a full-time hybrid (remote/onsite) position located in San Antonio. Preference will be given to candidates who live in the region, or who are willing to relocate.
What You'll Do - Accountabilities
Essential Duties
Ensure successful implementation of Rea ding Mastery Transformations [DG1] in grades K-2 for a cohort of schools within assigned region so that schools meet the Reading Mastery Transformations strict end of year K-2 Literacy goals.
  • Provide analysis, strategy, and consultancy to develop instructional staff t o improve the quality of literacy instruction for K-2 Reading Mastery Transformations , K-2 DIBELS , and K-2 Wit & Wisdom so that students end the year on grade level
  • Support effective Reading Mastery Transformations i n struction through weekly data analysis, feedback, observations and coaching
  • Facilitate and/or participate in Weekly Problem-Solving Calls to provide clear next steps via the Weekly Problem-Solving Summary
  • Provide group /regroup/test up recommendations based on Reading Mastery Transformations Placement / DIBELS test results
  • Conduct in field observations, coaching and support to school leaders
  • Communicate priorities so that schools meet K-2 Literacy goals
  • Manage and communicate processes related to K-2 Reading Mastery Transformations implementation, so that leaders in the region are tightly aligned around priorities. Such as:
    • Participate in operating mechanisms for region to facilitate communication: check-ins/business partnership meetings
    • Utilize regional newsletters as primary mode of communication to cascade information and/or action items
    • Troubleshoot in person or remotely, formally or informally with school leaders as needed
Manage di strict wide systems and processes at the regional level such as Reading Mastery Transformations Testing, BoY Roster creation, BoY / EoY Roster Verification, Reading Mastery Transformations Online, Mid-Year Hire and other K-2 related trainings so that schools meet the Reading Mastery Transformations di strict end of year student achievement goals.
  • Collaborate with appropriate teams to determine the process for K-2 related trainings, attendance and logistics
  • Define process and checkpoints for leaders and teachers for registration so that participants enroll in appropriate sessions of K-2 Reading Mastery Transformations, K-2 Academy make-up, K inder Institute, Systems Overview and all related Reading Mastery Transformations trainings (Coaching Academ ies I, II, III, III plus, IV, Peer Coaches Training-Level A, B, C)
  • Provide training and accountability for school leaders in key processes throughout the year such as roster creation and verification and student testing
  • Collaborate with the Director of Academics-K-2 and participate in the design and roll out of K inder Institute and other related K-2 trainings
Ensure successful implementation for Wit & Wisdom for a cohort of schools so that students end the year on grade level as measured by successful completion of end of year assessments or DIBELS.
  • Prioritize and support school lead team members who manage K-2 teachers so that 90% of schools meet defined capacity for Reading Mastery Transformations targets .
  • Lead strategic initiatives to build instructional capacity at schools such as providing Reading Mastery Transformations focused analysis to leaders; Reading Mastery Transformations content capacity through coaching; designing professional development, and creating deliverables that address strategic curricular needs on campus
  • Provide organization, region, school, assessment, and student-level analyses and strategic recommendations to increase both efficiency and efficacy of senior and school leadership
  • Build capacity in instructional staff to deliver high-quality first instruction and data-driven interventions to close gaps
  • Regularly analyze quantitative and qualitative data at academies across the region to identify instructional gaps in ELA instruction and achievement
  • Design and partner with academic services team to provide timely professional development that increases the ability of teachers and leaders to meet ambitious academic goals in ELA
  • Track and monitor leader training s so that appropriate staff complete all required training s ; l everage teacher leader capacity, such as using Trainer of Trainers to deliver mid-year hire training as needed
Ensure successful implementation of the Reading Mastery Transformations in grades Kinder through 2 nd grade across the region so that 90% of students end the year on or above grade level .
  • Ensure the successful implementation and intervention for Read ing Mastery Transformations through Amplify and the DIBELS assessment.
  • Create, manage and communicate Reading Mastery Transformations di strict-wide systems and processes related to Kinder through 2 nd grade Rea ding Mastery Transformations implementation so that Early Literacy Coaches and leaders are tightly aligned around priorities
  • Monitor progress towards goals through data analysis to identify gaps and communicate priorities so that schools meet Reading Mastery Transformations student achievement goals
  • Co-facilitate action calls and business partnership meetings with the Director of Academics , Principals, VP of Schools to facilitate data analysis and next steps , so that school leaders develop continuously toward autonomy and student achievement increases quarterly toward goals
  • Create and maintain operating mechanisms with campus, regional and National partners to ensure goal tracking and attainment
  • Engage resources such as Teachboost , Problem Solving Summaries, Reading Mastery Transformations Online and Locus Dashboard to identify patterns and trends to provide schools with strategies and next steps for improvement
  • Collaborate with campus leaders to identify teacher leaders as part of a strong pipeline for campus lead team positions
What You Bring - Competencies;
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree required
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years Early Education experience in grades K-2 or Reading or specific teaching experience in any of the following programs: Rea ding Mastery, Reading T ransformations, Signatures Language
    • Minimum of 3 years managing others to results of Rea ding Mastery Transformations
    • Experience teaching English Language Arts TEKS
    • Collaboration with key stakeholders
    • Managing and coaching adults
    • Proven track record of success and leading others through influence
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong k nowledge of multiple programs such as Reading Mastery Transformations, Espanol to English , and Corrective Reading
  • Thorough knowledge of early literacy best practices and research
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends/priorities, as well as strategies and next steps
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and networking skills are essential
  • Ability to develop a clear vision and strategies for high-quality implementation of programs
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good judgement in high-stakes circumstances
  • Flexibility and a willingness to take on new tasks as the responsibilities of the positions evolve

Compensation & Benefits:
Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $74,700 and $87,100, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
