Payroll Administrator (3144) at SMX in Boise, Idaho, United States Job Description Payroll Administrator (3144)at SMX (United States SMX is seeking a skilled Payroll Administrator . This position will be responsible for processing multiple payrolls and developing solutions to meet the evolving needs of our growing organization. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the payroll process and act as a backup for the Payroll Manager. This position requires a blend of technical expertise in Deltek Costpoint and ADP with creative problem-solving and effective communication skills. Duties and Responsibilities: Calculate and process employee salaries, wages, and bonuses accurately and on time. Manage and process payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, and garnishments. Perform full-cycle timesheet processing including reviews, corrections, posting, accruals, and special pays. Ensure all payroll transactions are compliant with federal and state laws as well as government regulations. Resolve tax notices and perform root cause analysis. Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues. Address employee inquiries regarding payroll matters in a professional and timely manner. Generate various payroll reports for management and accounting purposes. Reconcile payroll data and resolve any discrepancies. Gather and analyze payroll operations data and metrics and report to management. Process payroll journal entries. Suggest and implement improvements to the payroll process to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Assist with the updating of policies and procedures. Assist with internal and external audit requests. Required Skills and Experience: Clearance Required: None. US Citizenship required for work on DoD contracts. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience 5 - 7 years of payroll & timekeeping experience in a government contracting environment. 3 years' experience in Deltek Costpoint and T&E 2 years' experience in ADP Intermediate Excel skills Working knowledge of GAAP and FAR Experience with DCAA audit support Must be able to effectively meet deadlines and prioritize work assignments for efficiency A strong attention to detail Strong oral and written communication skills Desired Experience: Cognos reporting.
