Idaho Falls Community Hospital is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Intermediate Medical Care team!

JOB SUMMARY:

Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) is dedicated to the acutely ill adult patient that requires more frequent monitoring than is provided in the Medical/Surgical unit but does not require the Intensive Care Unit. This unit provides care for our cardiology patients as well as other patients requiring management for respiratory, neurological, gastrointestinal, endocrine, trauma, or complex surgical needs.

Please note benefits are based on eligibility according to full-time, part-time or PRN status classification.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • NSTEMI care
  • Pre/Post vascular, diagnostic, and PCI procedures
  • CHF management
  • Telemetry monitoring; EtCO2 monitoring; continuous SpO2 monitoring
  • Selective drip management (amiodarone, nicardipine, nitroglycerin, diltiazem, heparin, insulin)
  • O2 support including high flow, CPAP, BiPAP, and trach care
  • Stable hyperglycemia
  • Sepsis management
  • Postoperative patients with need for more frequent monitoring

Qualifications


Education/Certification: Graduate of an accredited RN program. Current, unencumbered RN licensure in the state of Idaho. Current BLS or completion prior to conclusion of orientation and recertification every 2 years prior to expiration. Successful completion of ACLS course within 3 months of hire and renewal
every 2 years prior to expiration. Complete a basic dysrhythmia class with a grade of 84% or higher within 6 weeks of hire date, if no prior telemetry experience. If prior telemetry experience and
previous course has been taken a test may be taken to demonstrate competency. Completion of Moderate Sedation course within 6 months of hire.
Experience: 1 years of Med/Surg experience is recommended
Equipment/Technology: Basic computer knowledge.
Language/Communication: Must have the ability to effectively read, write, and speak English. Ability to communicate in a professional manner with patients, families, coworkers,
physicians, and leadership.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and dividein all units of measure using whole numbers. Able to calculate correct doses by applying necessary formulas as needed.
Mental Capabilities:
Ability to problem solve and handle stressful situations. Ability to think and act quickly. Ability to anticipate and prevent problems. Ability to multitask.
Interpersonal: Ability to work well with others. Able to give and receive constructive criticism.
Performance: Ability to work well in an interdisciplinary team environment as well as function independently to care for critically ill patients. Actively seeks new knowledge and strives to follow
best practice and evidence-based guidelines.
