Idaho Falls Community Hospital is looking for an Inpatient Education Supervisor to join our team!

JOB SUMMARY: Supervises the inpatient clinical education program for all inpatient units. Provides evaluation of nursing and patient care staff. Facilitates evidenced-based education within the inpatient care units. Collaborates with managers, directors, administration, and providers to incorporate clinical processes into the plan of care for patients. Creates content to educate nursing services that is evidence based best practice for each inpatient unit. Ensure adherence to professional standards and IFCH policies, procedures, and guidelines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Inpatient Education Supervisor- Registered Nurse

• Provides guidance and oversight to all inpatient nurse educators.
• Demonstrate expertise in the teaching/learning process to improve clinical practice and system processes.
• Ensures an effective orientation program of all new clinical personnel, can create and conduct educational skills labs/teaching sessions.
• Provide ongoing, focused, and remedial training and education to staff, both in the classroom and bedside environments.
• Identify risk/trends of educational needs per unit. Develops in-services and competency to mitigate risk of each unit.
• Collaborates with directors, manager, and physicians to ensure quality patient care within each patient care unit.
• Collaborate with team members and the administration team to plan a yearly calendar of programs including annual competencies and assists in its execution.
• Assist all department managers as directed by Assistant Director of Inpatient in meeting the educational needs of their employees.
• Serve on assigned committees as directed by Assistant Director of Inpatient.

Qualifications

Education/Certification: Graduate of an accredited RN program. Current RN licensure in the state of Idaho. Current BLS. ACLS, PALS, and Basic Dysrhythmia within 6 months of hire.

Experience: Preferred 5 years critical care nursing experience and/or previous preceptor or education experience.

Equipment/Technology: Basic computer knowledge. Ability to learn and become a super user and educate regarding the use of patient care equipment and technology. Ability to learn and teach competence-based education to staff on the unit.
