Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Room team. As an ER Nurse, you will provide direct and specialized nursing care to patients in emergency situations. Your expertise and quick thinking will be crucial in assessing patients, administering treatments, and coordinating with the healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Duties:
- Perform triage assessments to quickly determine the severity of patients' conditions
- Administer medications, start IV lines, and perform venipuncture as needed
- Conduct physical examinations and obtain patient histories
- Assist with diagnostic procedures such as sonography and laboratory tests
- Provide behavioral health support to patients experiencing mental health crises
- Administer emergency treatments such as sutures and wound care
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Monitor patients' vital signs and response to treatments
- Educate patients and their families on post-treatment care and follow-up instructions
Experience:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following skills and qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in an emergency room setting
- Proficiency in medication administration, including IV medications
- Knowledge of trauma medicine protocols and procedures
- Experience working with patients of all ages, including children
- Strong assessment skills to quickly identify emergent situations
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
