Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical and Controls Engineer Intern to join our team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity for hands-on experience in electrical engineering, control systems, and automation, under the mentorship of experienced professionals. The intern will contribute to various projects, gaining valuable insights into the design, implementation, and optimization of electrical and control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the design, development, and testing of electrical systems and control algorithms.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical and control systems into larger projects, ensuring compatibility and performance.

Conduct research and analysis to support engineering projects, including feasibility studies, component selection, and performance evaluations.

Participate in the programming and configuration of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), and other control devices.

Support troubleshooting efforts and provide technical assistance during system integration, commissioning, and startup phases.

Utilize engineering software and tools for simulation, modeling, and analysis of electrical and control systems.

Document project progress, findings, and outcomes effectively through reports, presentations, and technical documentation.

Adhere to project timelines, milestones, and quality standards, while demonstrating a commitment to safety and compliance.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field.

Strong academic background with coursework in electrical circuits, control systems, digital signal processing, and programming languages (e.g., C/C , Python)Familiarity with PLC programming languages (e.g., ladder logic, structured text) and experience with industrial automation systems is a plus. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation) and simulation tools for electrical and control system design. Familiarity with suite of Microsoft Office Product Tools (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.).Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex systems and propose innovative solutions.Effective communication and teamwork abilities, with a willingness to learn and contribute in a dynamic work environment. Prior internship or project experience in electrical engineering or controls engineering is desirable but not required.
