The SNUG Social Worker aims to address the trauma individuals and communities face due to long-term exposure to gun violence and provides help and support to improve lives and strengthen neighborhoods impacted by violence. The SNUG Social Worker will provide mental health counseling and other services to individuals and families. Will adhere to and promote the philosophy and mission of the company by performing the following duties.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Works as an onsite social worker and member of the SNUG team in order to support SNUG staff in their current work with high-risk individuals affected by community violence.
   
• Works with victims of community violence and their families and provides them with either short or longer-term therapeutic services.
   
• Works with the SNUG Program Manager and staff to regularly debrief, process traumatic incidents, and manage the day-to-day stress of this work; provide ongoing training for staff and provide guidance in their work with clients.
   
• Creates onsite programming including support groups for staff, participants, families of homicide victims, etc.
   
• Responds with SNUG team to violent incidents in the community, attends SNUG outreach events, and makes home visits to victims and families when appropriate.
   
• Develops relationships with hospitals and other crime victim service providers in order to ensure crime victims know about and utilize SNUG services; will be required to maintain adequate caseload.

Education/Experience:

• Minimum of LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker) is required; LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) preferred.
• Direct experience working with high-risk individuals in the community.
