IBTX Independent Bank is Hiring a Special Assets Officer II Near Englewood, CO
This role has the opportunity to work hybrid. During the interview process, our Talent Acquisition Team will share additional details with you. The Special Assets Officer II is responsible for effectively managing or helping supervise a portfolio of commercial loan workout relationship up to $5,000,000. The Special Assets Officer partners with Credit Officers, Portfolio Managers, Commercial Lenders and Administrative Assistants to develop and recommend strategies to maximize recovery and reduce losses while coordinating collection efforts with outside legal counsel. Said Officer will sometimes be asked to lean in on home loans in Colorado. Responsibilities Manage a portfolio of commercial loan workout relationships Establish action plans with specific resolution target dates and promptly conveying recommendations on adjustments for risk ratings, loss recognitions or write offs and accrual status. Formulate and execute exit and retention strategy plans for commercial loans by recommending the best course of action Collaborate with Credit Officers, Commercial Lenders and their administrative assistants to obtain necessary financial information required to properly track financial covenants, exceptions and preparation of approvals Maintain adequate credit/collateral files with scan documents Attend Admin Loan Meetings to present collection updates and strategies when required – weekly writing updates on loans. Identify when legal counsel is required given transaction complexity Uses professional knowledge, experience, and analytical criteria to make decisions and act independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments. Assist with Colorado home loans that become past due or mature Qualifications Education and Minimum Experience Bachelor’s Degree or six years of equivalent work experience with accounting background. Completion of a formal credit training program preferred. 6 years of collection, workout, or related banking experience Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities Deep understanding of credit policies, procedures and decisioning tools Knowledge of bankruptcy laws and related legal proceedings Requires strong oral, written communication, and negotiation skills Ability to access, analyze and recommend the best course of action in difficult credit situations Possess analytical and problem solving skills with company financial statements Excellent communicative skills with problem borrowers Job Details: Regular In accordance with Colorado law: Colorado pay for this position is anticipated to be between $85,000.00 - $161,000.00 annually, actual offers to be determined based on applicant’s skills, experience and education.
