This is accomplished by counseling, teaching, direct care, and collaboration/consultation with other health care professionals. The Staff Nurse meets patient needs in accordance with the Nursing Division's philosophy, policies and procedures. Must work a minimum of three days per week two of which must be Monday and Wednesday, responsible for appropriate PAR levels of supplies, recommendation for ordering of new supplies, orientation to thoracic service of new staff, and maintain preference cards. Qualifications Minimum Education/Experience: Associates Degree in nursing required. BSN preferred. 2-3 years of OR experienced required.Trauma experience preferred.2 years of experience in thoracic service line.Minimum skills/abilities: Meets performance criteria of Staff Nurse. Able to communicate verbally and in writing in the English language. Able to complete mathematical computations required to administer medications and treatment protocols. Able to lift, transfer and move patients. Possess basic computer knowledge. Certification/Licensure: Current licensure in Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse.
