Iapetus Holdings LLC Career Center is Hiring a Safety Specialist Near California, CA

Atlas Field Services (AFS) is currently seeking Vegetation Management Safety Professionals to join our team in the Central Coast and Bay Area regions. Interested applicants must reside in the area or be willing to relocate to the area.

Who You Are:

You’re energetic and enjoy working outdoors. You understand that this space can be demanding, and you make sure you have the tools and resources to get the job done. You have at least one year experience in the vegetation management and utility space.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Perform safety observations on utility vegetation management tree contractor.
• Utilize client required operating system for data collection, reporting, and tracking.
• Attendance and participation in Management and Client required safety meetings
• Communicate daily with the client, contractors, and Atlas management
• Perform duties in a manner that will promote and maintain good public relations
• Assist in storm and other disaster related assignments
• Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability required. • 5 years’ experience in Utility Line Clearance Arboriculture is required.

• 2-5 years’ experience tree climbing skills, rigging, stump grinding, chipping, operating skid steers and various equipment used in the three care industry.

 • Foreman experience is an asset 

• Aerial lift operations skills 

• Knowledge base to effectively prune and remove trees, according to the ANSI Z133 standards for the tree care industry

• Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• The ability to problem-solve and multi-task with close attention to detail.

• Must be able to work alone, outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain

• Must have basic computer skills and a smart phone

• Supervisory experience preferred 

• Training experience preferred

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • OSHA 30 is required
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to drive company provided vehicle required
  • Current First-aid and CPR certification required
  • BS or AS degree in Occupational Health and Safety is preferred
  • ISA Certification preferred 
  • CTPS a plus
  • Bi-lingual speaking (English and Spanish) is a plus

• The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions (e.g. traveling to customer sites, performing work on site).
• The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles (e.g. in warehouse, at customer sites).
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Work alone in an outdoor field environment; remote locations as well as urban, city environment; physical demands and travel from site to site, including: walking/hiking on various surfaces including flat, dry, wet, slippery, uneven, rough, steep terrain, hills and slopes; exposure to noise, dust, grease, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; exposure to hazardous traffic conditions.

PRE-QUALIFICATIONS

• Must pass a post-offer background and drug screening.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record.
