Job Description Summary:

This position is responsible for compiling and analyzing financial information for the organization. You will create and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual reports/results and ensure financial information is recorded accurately. This position performs financial forecasting and reconciliations of internal accounts while operating under general financial guidelines.

This is an independent contributor role directly supporting the Business Unit Presidents.

Areas of Emphasis

  • Business Unit Forecasting
    • Business unit presidents are responsible for their annual plans and on-going forecasts.
    • Work with business units to develop, support, and present annual plan and on-going forecast updates.
  • Profitability Analysis
    • Perform variance analysis highlighting variances of actuals to plans and forecasts
    • Present to business unit presidents to our teams are using the data to drive improvements
    • Support business unit president in presenting results/variances to the CEO.
    • Own the analysis. Work with the teams to drive strategies for continuous improvements.
  • Efficiency & Rates Reporting.
    • Enhance and design improved reporting tools to track labor efficiency by customer and/or program.
    • Utilize efficiency metrics, actual costs, projections, and other data to develop and monitor bid rates for capturing new business.
    • Create and submit government overhead rates and submissions as required.
  • Business Support
    • Execute corporate projects of a strategic and financial nature, working closely with business unit management and other members of the corporate team (Comptrollers, Treasury, Strategy, Tax, Accounting Policy, Risk Management, Investor Relations and Legal)
    • Support program management, operating teams, and business unit president with reporting and analysis
    • Analyze expenses and increase visibility to concerned parties (BU Presidents)
  • Accounting Support
    • Review monthly P&L and Balance Sheet with accounting team to ensure information is accurately reflected.
    • Calculate and post business unique requirements (such as revenue recognition, deferred revenue, uninvoiced revenue, etc for i3 Assembly and SureScan)
    • Support cash forecast with emphasis on SureScan
    • Support team with guidance and help to ensure overall business is operating. Emphasis on payroll posting transitions and establishing a strong balance sheet reconciliation process. 

General Duties/Functions/Accountability/Scope:

  • Compiles and analyzes financial data
  • Develops integrated revenue/expense analyses, projections, reports, and presentations
  • Creates weekly, monthly, quarterly or annual reports and ensures accuracy of the process
  • Identifies trends and developments in competitive environments and presents findings to senior management
  • Performs financial forecasting and monthly variance analysis
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the job but explores alternatives when established processes are insufficient
  • Is expected to operate with minimal supervision on a routine basis

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors or advanced degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics required
  • 5-10 years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, in positions of increased responsibility
  • Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment at the C suite level with evolving business needs and the ability to manage time effectively
  • Strong executive presence and an effective communicator
  • Must demonstrate excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Must demonstrate proven ability to develop strong partnerships and influence at all levels of the organization
